The University of St Andrews Polo Club

The Polo Club

Polo is a dynamic, exciting, and tactical game played in teams of three (arena) or four (outdoor/beach) players on each side.

The University of St Andrews Polo Club is a friendly, open, and successful club. We look forward to welcoming seasoned players, complete beginners, and everyone in between every year.

There is a level of competition available to everyone, as well as informal playing opportunities for those who just want to be active in a relaxed atmosphere.

We play against other clubs across the country for friendly chukkas on the West Sands, the National championships down in Warwickshire, and everything in between.

Polo clubs are notoriously sociable, and St Andrews is no exception. We run a lively social calendar full of parties, dinners and nights out on the town. The largest event we host is the University of St Andrews Charity Polo Tournament in the spring.

So come along to one of our social events to meet us and find out more!

The Charity Polo Tournament

Our polo club has hosted an annual charity polo tournament since 2004 and raised tens of thousands of pounds for charitable causes. Since 2010, our charitable partner has been Help for Heroes.  In 2015, we reimagined the event at our new venue, Errol Park Estate. From over 1,100 spectators to the 2015 St Andrews Charity Polo Tournament, presented by Graypaul Maserati Edinburgh, we have grown the event to over 1,850 spectators in 2018.
